FRAMING CARPENTER

 Reporting to the Lead Framer, the Framing Carpenter will work as part of a team to build new and renovate structural wood framed buildings. The Framing Carpenter will also assist in other various carpentry activities such as installing doors, windows, and assisting other crews with installation of cladding from time to time.


Position Responsibilities

  • Perform structural wood framing
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment at all times
  • Participate in site safety
  • Install doors and windows
  • Utilize hand, power, and pneumatic tools/machines
  • Read and follow blueprints
  • Installing various styles of cladding, sub-girt assemblies, and building wrap


Things you will need to be able to do in order to be effective in this role:

  • Appetite for learning and improving
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Positive attitude
  • Be team work oriented
  • Able to lift 50 lbs on a regular basis
  • Capable of working in industrial settings (noisy, uneven surfaces, etc.)
  • Ability to stand, bend, walk, and kneel frequently


Some requirements for this position include:

  • Reliability, honesty, punctuality
  • Previous and recent experience as a Framing Carpenter
  • Valid drivers license
  • Reliable transportation
  • Currently living in the Halifax area
